Today is January 21. For Mom it is day 23 in the hospital and day 12 of being intubated. She continues the fight but the journey is filled with ups and downs. Her stats looked good enough to once again wean her from her sedation late yesterday afternoon. And once again it didn’t go well. The PA and the nurse reiterated that she just wasn’t ready. Her oxygen dipped late in the night and they had to prone her (move her to her stomach). They have increased both sedation and oxygen and we hope for her to stabilize soon.
The bright spot in this mornings report centered around her white blood count which has come down. The antibiotic seems to be working. This is an answer to one of our prayers and we celebrate the small victory that it is.
Mom has been steady in the last few days making this morning’s report hard to hear. We remain hopeful as we ride this roller coaster and feel God meet us in both the highs and lows. Today we pray for continued strength and improvement for mom. We will not give up hope!

Never give up. I believe in miracles. She’s going to come out of this and we will praise God and rejoice in the testimony. Let’s continue to pray that God’s will be done on earth as it is in Heaven and let us ask that He takes this plague away.
